CONTRIBUTION REQUEST

Support for your organization

Through financial contribution, resource donations, and management volunteering, Columbia Credit Union supports many causes in our communities.

We take a thoughtful, strategic approach to giving – ensuring our contributions deliver the greatest possible value to the communities we serve. While most of our contributions are determined through our annual budgeting process, with requests due in August for the following year, we reserve a small amount for requests that arise throughout the year. Each request is carefully reviewed based on the information provided, the scope of impact, and alignment with our core focus areas:

  • Creating a Vibrant Local Economy
  • Supporting Physical & Mental Health Access
  • Alleviating Housing & Food Insecurity
  • Sustainable Environment – Community Livability
  • Education, especially Workforce Education

Columbia Credit Union is unable to fund:

  • Individuals (including individual fundraising activities for a larger group)
  • Individual and school sport teams
  • Conferences, school clubs, PTO/PTA, trips, or tours
  • Events held outside Columbia Credit Union communities
  • Advocacy or research groups
  • Federally elected officials and political positions

We do our best to respond to requests within 30 days. We’re honored you’ve considered Columbia Credit Union as a potential partner in your efforts. While we wish we could support every cause, the high volume of requests we receive each year means we are unable to fulfill them all. We give sincere thanks for the work you are doing in our community to “Make Life Better”.

Submit a Proposal Letter (max 2 pages) including:

  • Brief description of your organization, mission, and goals
  • Contact name and phone number
  • Overview of the project/event
  • Funding amount requested (if applicable)
  • Event dates and ticket/entry fees (if applicable)
  • Project background and timeline
  • Who will benefit (number and demographics)
  • Expected outcomes
  • Marketing and promotional plans
  • Volunteer opportunities for Columbia Credit Union employees

Attach the following documents:

  • Project/program budget (expenses, income sources, and any past Columbia CU funding)
  • Sponsorship packet (levels and benefits)
  • Current list of business and foundation donors
  • IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter
  • W-9 (if this is your first time receiving funds from Columbia CU)
  • List of your Board of Directors
  •

Columbia Credit Union is dedicated to giving back to our communities. If you have an event or cause you wish to be considered for funding, please complete the “Request Checklist” above and submit the information by sending an email.

Due to the high volume of requests, please no phone calls or requests for meetings.
